A Gift Idea

One of the hard parts of the holiday season is deciding what gifts to give everyone. Just this afternoon, I had a whole conversation with my aunt about what to get my kid for Christmas. I didn’t have a clue. I don’t even know what I’m getting him this year. We finally settled on a couple of things on the list that he gave my mother. Not very creative, but it’ll work.

If you’re having a similarly hard time, I have a suggestion. Buy the person a book, specifically the book All We Need: The Thanksgiving That Almost Wasn’t. I was written by me and illustrated by Marci Bohn. It’s a sweet story, if I do say so myself. And the illustrations are wonderful.

I know what you’re thinking. “That’s a Thanksgiving book. Why would I get it for someone for Christmas?” That is a good question, but it’s simple. First, it’s a message that’s good to reinforce any time of the year. And second, in my experience, kids don’t worry much about things being seasonally appropriate. My kid didn’t. We had a Purim book that we read the whole year round.

So, that’s my suggestion. Buy a kid’s book for that special someone on your list. They’ll appreciate it and you’ll be a hero. I promise.
