We’re two weeks away from the big day: Thanksgiving. You wouldn’t know it from going out and about in the world, though. Christmas is everywhere already. It’s November 14th and every store is decked out for Christmas. I’ve seen houses in my neighborhood with Christmas decorations up. All the commercials are for Christmas. What about Thanksgiving Season?
Have you even listened to Alice’s Restaurant yet? I can almost guarantee you haven’t had a can of cranberry sauce this year. What about pies? Thanksgiving kicks off pie season. There’s still turkey to be had, football to watch, and parades. And, most importantly, have you read All We Need: The Thanksgiving That Almost Wasn’t? Have you learned its lessons?
Look, I love Christmas as anyone who reads my annual December posts knows, but Christmas would feel lesser without Thanksgiving first. If you spend too long in Christmas season, you’re burned out before the day arrives. If recent elections have taught us anything, it should be that.
So, get your copy of All We Need. Learn its lessons. You only have two weeks. Let’s revel in the Thanksgiving season. You won’t regret it.
